Sandra Brown was born in Kentucky and grew up in various cities in the Southeast. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in journalism, but her real education came later when she became a teacher. In 1960 she moved to New York City to pursue a career as a writer. In 1969 she published her first novel, The Loving Kind, and since then has written more than fifty titles, including the bestselling Sandra Brown novels.
